My Bio in a nut shell

Biography.

Who am I ? My names is James Walker but most of my friends and family call me Wally. I’m 43 years old . I live in Athens Texas in a small farm house with a yellow lab name Hunter and a mutt name Gimp ( he just showed up one day, he looked lonely so I took him in.) I have 4 children a girl friend and 2 ex-wives , a very large and loving extended family. And I love them all very much. My heros are My step father Ed , a man that took on more than should be asked of anyone, Dirk Pitt , and Indiana Jones. I’m a Plumber by trade, something I’ve been doing for the last 10 years. I have been many things, starting with a soldier, then a private investigator, a machinist and now a plumber. But I don’t think I’ve ever really found what I was meant to be. I’m still not sure what that is but doing what I’m doing now makes me feel much closer to being true to myself.

I probably spend way to much time with the other things that I like to do, I guess you would call them my hobbies, I think of them as much more than something as benign as a hobby. I’m a PADI Dive master and hope soon to be a dive instructor. My longest love is Photography, something I hope to show a lot of on this web site. I’m a  backpacker, caver , mountain biker, sailor, surfer, beach comber and camper. In general, I like just about anything that you do outside. But if its outside near a ocean or on an ocean its even better.

I have always been a traveler. By the time I was 14 I had been in most of the lower 48 states and Hawaii. Later during my 10 years in the army I traveled to the middle east , North Africa , Europe, central and south America. So, basically my first 29 years were spent traveling. After the service I tried to settle down and do the 9 to 5 thing, be a family man with a normal life. That , though rewarding in many ways, always left me searching for something that was missing in my life,( I have 2 ex-wives who will attest to that). After 14 years of being stagnant I’m going to go back to the road. We will see where it leads me.

My dream day would be; Wake up early in the morning , have a nice hot cup of coffee then jump on my Harley and ride off to a mountain. Once at the base of the mountain I’d put on my pack and begin the hike to the top. After a semi technical ascent to the top I’d sit and meditate for awhile on all the beauty that surrounds me. Next out comes the parachute and the scuba gear. Dawn equipment and jump. Sailing out over the mountain side heading for the ocean. When I get about 20 feet from the water I’d cut loose and dive in. I’d dive down to about 100 feet and find a long lost Spanish galleon. Once I surface I’d be picked up by a sail boat ( of coarse there's an all female crew, blond, brennet, and red head. ) and have a grand meal as we sail off towards the south pacific. A man can daydream can’t he?
